FAQ
What should I wear to sessions?
Comfortable, flexible clothing is best as we will be looking at your body as a whole system!
Is an internal examination required?
No, it is never a requirement. It could be helpful and provide important information but there are many external components that can contribute to pelvic floor dysfunction symptoms.
How many sessions will I need?
This varies significantly between individuals and after your evaluation you will be given an idea of the best frequency for your needs. It is often helpful to see your PT for a few weekly sessions after your evaluation to assess how you are responding to your plan of care. However, the goal is that you will be able to carry on independently with the tools you are given!
Do you accept insurance?
Brooke is “out of network” with all commercial insurances but does contract with Medicare. All visits will be an hour one on one with Brooke. Payment is collected at your time of service and cash, checks, credit cards, FSA or HSA accounts can be used as forms of payment. A superbill will be provided for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
Can I bring my child?
Yes – childcare should not be a barrier to receiving care and postpartum it is often helpful to look at your body mechanics while caring for your children.
Do I need a referral?
Brooke is a direct access provider but after 30 days a script/referral from your healthcare provider is required.
